If you've ever wondered where the "DONK" sample originated from...
Well here's what Google AI came up with?
QuoteOrigin of the Sample:
The distinctive, bamboo-textured "donk" bassline sound was first created by the Dutch duo Klubbheads in their 1997 track, "Ultimate Seduction - 'A Walking Nightmare (Klubbheads GP Mix)'".
Birth of Genres:
This genre became a key ingredient in the formation of hard house music. It also gave rise to the UK's Scouse House scene and bounce scenes and in Spain, the genre was called poky.
Global Impact:
The "donk" sound spread beyond the Netherlands, appearing in the UK and spawning the "Scouse house" scene, as well as music styles in Spain and Russia, the hardbass scene.
Here is the first track that used the "DONK" sample....
Well now you know... 8)
Very interesting...everyday is a school day haha
I remember looking into this years ago, forgot that the Klubbheads created the bamboo bass/donk
its interesting how different countries have made their own style of Donk. like you can tell straight away when a poky track comes on or a Russian hardbass tune comes on.
I think in Australia they call it NRG but not 100% sure
Either way anything with Donk bassline i'm listening to lol
