Where do you think most producers fall short when they make edits/remixes?

For me, sometimes I feel like the 'soul' of the song is gone and even though it's sampled, it just feels empty.

Well a remix is their own version of the orginal song so I wouldnt say they fall short there.. If your comparing the orginal song to their remix and you favour the orginal then thats kinda unfir as thier remix is their own stamp on the orginal
