How does everyone approach licensing? If I have something I think is good enough for release - how do you know who owns the original copyright, and who do you talk to?

Google the artists and find out what label they are on. Then I guess you need to approch labels to sign up to and go from there. We have a few members that are or have been with various labels on here. HSSP1 would be able to help a lot more than I can dude.

You will be paying the Artist more than you get back from sales so i would wait till you get your name established first with plenty of tracks. I'd use splice as you get a license with all vocals you download.
